Love God Charity Group

Executive Summary

The Core purpose of this charitable mission is to help the destitute and the needy in the most far flung corners of Sub-Saharan Africa. These poor people require our support and our understanding as well as our compassion for the daily struggles they embark on just to get though the day. We will try to bring succor to the orphans and the widows and help ensure that the people we work with, in our target areas have the elementary food security required for a healthy life. Moreover, we would also impart basic healthcare education (free of cost) to the desperately poor who otherwise have no access to such facilities.
Ultimately, our core aim is to give the disabled and the helpless a chance at a better life where they would not have to begin their day searching for adequate food and nourishment, only to end the day on an empty belly. While we would commence working in one country initially, we intend to increase the scope of our charitable activities to encompass at least four nations in Africa where our help is required the most.
For us to launch this mission, it is imperative that we have the support and the help of the community and the society around us. Through this proposal, we would attempt to showcase the nature and scope of our work as well as the efforts required to bring it to fruition, including our core goals and objectives along with the marketing plan we would used to communicate with our target audience

Introduction

In the many developing nations of sub Saharan Africa, millions of people suffer from a wide range of diseases due to abject poverty and hunger that not only affects their health, but also the quality of their life and financial wellbeing. The most common diseases here range from infections and chronic health conditions to malnutrition and complications of childbirth. In order to combat these diseases and reduce their incidence and prevention, a three-fold strategy is required that focuses on curing, caring, and prevention.
The charity (we will refer to it as “Love God Charity Group”) will focus primarily on the third aspect of the strategy, i.e., prevention. While a comprehensive preventive strategy includes a number of factors, such as immunization, optimal nutrition, and more, we will focus on improving the health literacy of the population to improve their health outcomes while simultaneously working to take care of hunger and malnutrition in the communities we would work with.
An Improvement in the health literacy rate of the population potentially, would form a basis of improving their healthcare and reducing infant mortality occurrences. Moreover, access to healthy and nutritious food amongst the target communities with special reference to the disabled, the widows and the orphans would help them overcome these problems and thereby improve the overall quality of their lives.

Our Faith

Food security is the eternal birthright of every individual anywhere in the world, but even more so for orphans and the widowed who are made to bear the horrors of a world they did not create. Here it is our responsibility as Christians who have been endowed with so many of the Lord’s blessings, to share the same with our less fortunate brethren. Our religious obligation as God fearing Christians and also our moral obligation to share what we take for granted such as good food and plenty of money to spend while living, in a safe and secure country.
Biblical verses regarding the concept of charity and sharing “When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit on his glorious throne. Before him will be gathered all the nations, and he will separate people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. And he will place the sheep on his right, but the goats on the left. Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me...” James 2:14-17 One who is gracious to a poor man lends to the LORD, and He will repay him for his good deed. Proverbs 19:17 And if you give yourself to the hungry and satisfy the desire of the afflicted, then your light will rise in darkness and your gloom will become like midday. Isaiah 58:10 In the light of the above verses we can clearly see for ourselves, the seminal e importance of sharing with the less fortunate, especially the widows and the orphans as well as the disabled who are not in a position to take care of their own and without charity y may be condemned to die because of starvation.

Vision statement of the Charity

“Our vision statement is to help needy families free from hunger and poverty, where the destitute and the disabled, the widows and the orphans can live a truly dignified life with access to both healthcare and food.” Our core goals The core aims of our charity are to create sustainable outreach programs for the destitute with special emphasis on those who could not earn a living in a dignified manner. The core areas in which we would want to work include: Hunger alleviation Healthcare education
The “Love God Charity Group” will focus in Ghana initially. Later the geographical scope of the Trust’s services would be extended to include neighboring countries as well.
